Original Creative Work
WVAT exists to celebrate the work and creative practice of the artists and makers who take part.
All work submitted for inclusion in the trail must be the original creative work of the participating artist, designer or maker.
We do not accept artwork that is wholly generated by artificial intelligence or generative image-generation tools as a method of artmaking.
Artists may use digital technology and other tools as part of their creative process where appropriate, but work presented through WVAT should represent the artist’s own creative practice, skill and authorship.
Where can I exhibit?
WVAT is an open and flexible trail. You don’t need a traditional gallery or dedicated studio to take part.
Artists and makers can exhibit in a variety of settings, including:
Private homes and home studios
Professional studios and workshops
Galleries and exhibition spaces
Shops and businesses
Cafés and hospitality venues
Pop-up spaces
Gardens, fields and other outdoor locations
Community spaces
Sculpture and art trails
Site-specific locations
We welcome creative approaches to exhibiting and encourage participants to think about how their work can be experienced within the landscape and communities of the region.
Previous trails have included work presented in unconventional and unexpected locations. For example, the 2025 trail included Tanya Hinton’s mural trail across Warminster, demonstrating how creative work can become part of the wider public environment.

Where a group or collective is applying, we ask that the application clearly identifies the artists and makers involved and the nature of the collaboration.
Young Artists and Schools
There is no upper or lower age limit for participation.
We are particularly keen to encourage younger artists, emerging creatives and schools to become involved in the trail and to celebrate the next generation of creative talent.
Where participants are under 18, appropriate arrangements for supervision, safeguarding and responsibility must be agreed with the school, parent/guardian or organising adult as appropriate
Applying to WVAT
Applicants should provide accurate information about their practice and the work they intend to exhibit.
By submitting an application, you confirm that:
You meet the geographical or connection criteria outlined above.
The work submitted is representative of your own creative practice.
You have the right to exhibit and sell any work submitted.
The information provided in your application is accurate.
You agree to abide by the WVAT Code of Conduct.
You agree to the relevant terms and conditions of participation.
