THE WYLYE VALLEY YOUNG ARTIST AWARD

The Arts Society Wylye Valley (ASWV) has generously offered to award sponsorship to a selected young artist or maker to stage an exhibition of their work during the 2023 Wylye Valley Art Trail (WVAT).
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible candidates for the award will be aged 25 or under at the start of the next WVAT (29 April – 7 May 2023). They will be practising any form of visual art or craft (including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, leather, installation, jewellery, digital art, glass, photography, furniture, metalwork and bookbinding).They will live, work or demonstrate a strong interest in the Wylye Valley Art Trail area (approximately ranging from Mere in the west to Wilton in the east and Westbury in the North to Tisbury in the South).
THE AWARD
The award will consist of a one- off payment of £500 from ASWV to be paid to the winner in February 2023, once their WVAT exhibition has been confirmed. It may be used towards materials, exhibition / venue costs, framing / presentation, promotion or any other expenses relating to staging an exhibition.
In addition, WVAT will waive the usual art trail participation fee for the winner.
The winner’s exhibition will be listed and promoted as part of WVAT’23 in the brochure and on the website
THE EXHIBITION VENUE
You will be expected to organise your own exhibition space. If you have your own studio, workshop or access to a suitable venue, we would encourage you to hold your WVAT exhibition there. If this is not possible, the organisers will be happy to offer advice and research possible exhibition spaces for you to follow up.
APPLICATION
To apply, please complete and submit the entry form below, uploading up to 6 images of work produced during the past year. Images should be no larger than 2mb and labelled with: your name / title of work / medium / size in cm / date created.
